Based in Bristol, UK Tom Wardle launched the artist brand 'Africantunz' after releasing his debut album titled 'My Journey' & the tribute track to Patricia Majalisa titled 'Disco Queen' under his own name. He decided to rebrand and try some different styles under the brand name 'Africantunz'. Africantunz releases African style music full of different flavours. Inspired by the great works from high profile artists like Patricia Majalisa, Dan Tshanda Lucky Dube and By 4.
In December 2020 Africantunz released his debut single titled 'We Will Beat It (Covid-19). The single was released to signal hope to everyone being affected during the Coronavirus Pandemic. The single is produced by the multi talented SA producer Nicholas Tjale . For the single expect lots of Afro Beat fused with South African Kwaito & House. The single was followed by another single in early 2021 titled 'Hungry Children'. Hungry Children was a reggae / afro beat fusion track. The track was produced by one of Vic Fall's finest producers Shelter Matshelela and mixed by Nicholas Tjale.
In April 2021 Africantunz released a 4 track EP titled 'Unity'. The title track was a disco reggae track fused with Soul . The EP also included a Maskandi track titled 'Karma, ' produced by Shelter Matshelela . The track featured Mafeja and was sung in a mixture of Zulu, Ndebele and English.
Africantunz 14 track album titled New Era is due to drop on the 3rd September.
Africantunz also works closely with Oska Tee of O'tee Productions, award winning SA artist and ex manager to the popular brands By4, Brenda Fassie and Patricia Majalisa.
